Rangers have a long way to go and a short while to get there as Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen work overtime to recover from a difficult few weeks.
Players sales were always going to be the stumbling block, however, it now looks like the manager is starting to make progress with his squad rebuild – at last.
There have been no players seen with scarves above their heads at Ibrox just yet, but Sport Bild have provided a link that should see the mood amongst Rangers fans lifted.

Rangers in talks to sign Jan Schoppner
With news that Neraysho Kasanwirjo is on his way to Glasgow, it is encouraging to see that Jan Schoppner of Bundesliga outfit Heidenheim is a new name being mentioned.
The 25-year old is a defensive midfielder standing at a towering 6ft 3inches tall with his contract expiring in 2025, Bild claim that discussions are under way over a loan with an option to buy.
It is an area of the park where Rangers need to strengthen.
Since Steve Davis retired, there has been no natural number six, even if Connor Barron has hit the ground running and looks every inch a player who could be an Ibrox favourite for a long time to come.
Todd Cantwell undergoes medical at Blackburn Rovers
One player who might not be in Rangers midfield for long is Todd Cantwell who according to STV’s Raman Bhardwaj, is currently undertaking a medical with Blackburn Rovers.
It has been an eventful 18-months for the playmaker in Glasgow, unfortunately, highlights on the pitch haven’t been anywhere near as frequent as his talent should deliver.
A point that Philippe Clement was keen to make after Cantwell inspired Rangers to a 5-2 win over Dundee having been two goals behind:
“I was very happy with his second half, yes. That is the Todd I want to see every time. And then he makes the difference, and then he gets stats and then he’s important for this club.
“So it needs to be fire, desire, every time with and without the ball. Not only one game.”
Rangers need their number 10 to be the main man most weeks.
Not just for the odd purple patch throughout the season.
Cantwell at his best was clearly good enough to become a star for Rangers and be the talisman needed to win silverware, but for whatever reason, he would go too many games without influencing them.
Clement will be hoping that the medical goes without a hitch so that he can bring in a new magician with Nedim Bajrami top of the shopping list.
