Rangers will need to work hard and fast if the quality that Philippe Clement needs is to be brought through the door.

There are still too many individuals checking into Auchenhowie every day who aren’t in the thinking of the manager or are nowhere to be seen when the matchday squad is named.

Players like Ibrahim Adel are still being linked though with Norwegian ace Krisitian Arnstad the latest Rangers target according to The Scottish Sun who say the midfielder is being “tracked”.

Rangers eye move for Kristian Arnstad

The Anderlecht midfielder is said to be valued at £1.2m, is out of contract in 2025 and fits the exact profile of player that Nils Koppen detailed in his transfer plan.

Captain of his Under-21 national team, Arnstad is an allrounder in the engine room but loves nothing better than getting on the ball and trying to make something happen.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 20-year old will not sign a new deal with the Royals and that a bargain deal could be reached.

Midfield is still one area where exits probably aren’t needed to bring new faces in after the departure of John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Jose Cifuentes.

Speaking at the weekend, Philippe Clement confirmed that him and his recruitment team will be working day and night to bring the right players to Rangers:

“So, I think the most important thing for every club is to get the right players in, to get the right quality. And everybody is in the club, I know, working really hard on that.

“Every moment that they’re awake, same thing for me. It’s busy weeks. You get a lot of players to look from recruitment until late at night.

“Or until very, very late in the night. But that’s our job to do also. So, we want to get people in who can raise the quality, otherwise it’s of no use. So, everybody’s working hard on that.”

Arnstad ticks all the boxes for Rangers player trading

The priority in this transfer window is quality, not quantity.

They also have to be players who would be able to contribute to the first-team now and have the potential to be developed and sold at a profit later down the line.

Kristian Arnstad ticks all these boxes and would be a perfect fit in Philippe Clement’s midfield three.

Like Mohamed DIomande, he could play in any of the three positions and has an immaculate injury history too.

With 68 appearances for Anderlecht, Arnstad also has good experience for his age including 11 Europa Conference League games too.

Available, affordable, first-team ready, young, good quality and versatile, what’s not to like?
