Rangers will need to work all around the clock if they are to give Philippe Clement the players he needs to be competitive on all four fronts this season.
The Champions League money has been lost but the manager was still positive about moving players on and about bringing new ones in.
The Gers boss has been working with one hand tied behind his back to improve the squad due to the unavailability of Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell and, if he can get two players who can make better use of their wages then he will be onto a winner.
One player who wouldn’t cost as much but who has the potential to contribute more is Ibrahim Adel, who Rangers have just had a bid rejected for.

Ibrahim Adel tipped for elite leagues amid Rangers transfer offer
The flying Egyptian winger has huge potential and has starred for his country at age group level in both the African Cup of Nations and the Olympics.
Likened to Mo Salah, former Egypt international Sayed Moawad, is a huge fan of the 23-year old and has urged him to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious compatriot as Rangers look to swoop, as told to YSS Scores:
“If Ibrahim Adel remained at Pyramids next season, he will not go out again to a big club in Europe, he has to take advantage of the opportunity and his brilliance in the Olympics, and there are Egyptian players if they adapt to the atmosphere in Europe will perform at a distinguished level, as happened with Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny.
“Ibrahim Adel suits the league the Spaniard (La Liga) because of his high skill, and I hope he can start from there then join the English Premier League or any major European league, and there are leagues that are a stage in the lives of players such as the Portuguese and Swiss players in which Mohamed Salah played and participated Champions League with Basel, then he moved to Chelsea, played in Italy, then joined Liverpool.”
Rangers need more depth and Adel would add quality
Vaclav Cerny has shown the difference that a fast, competent winger can make.
Rabbi Matondo is inconsistent but his performance against Ross County demonstrated perfectly how a fully functioning attack should look with threats down either side.
The primary problem in recent seasons has been the lack of depth or ability of the manager to rotate.
Oscar Cortes is back in training but not yet fully fit, however, Clement will be excited at the prospect of having another promising star with similar potential at his disposal.
With one bid reported to be rejected, Nils Koppen will have to pull something special out the bag to get one of African football’s hottest prospects.
