Rangers need defensive reinforcements this January window and are making moves.
Patrick Stewart may be ready to address the media regarding the club’s transfer plans this month, but manager Philippe Clement will be hard at work behind the scenes.
The Belgian will closely work with his countryman, technical director Nils Koppen, to identify players to come in and cover for the current defensive injury crisis.
That has claimed the likes of Dujon Sterling and John Souttar in recent weeks while James Tavernier and Nana Kasanwirjo are also missing, as confirmed by the boss.
One man who has been linked to Rangers is centre-half Richard King.

How much Richard King could cost Rangers in January
Gers like King and they are considering a January move for the player despite numerous clubs in the Premier League – namely West Ham and Newcastle – taking a keen interest.
Rangers News can reveal that the player’s current club, Cavalier FC in his home country, would be looking for a nominal fee for King.
And we understand that fee to be close to the £1million region.
That would likely be an affordable deal to get done for the Light Blues who know they must act fast with the January window a particularly difficult one to deal in.
Rangers must dramatically improve their transfer strategy
It would be one player who would fit Koppen’s transfer strategy plan of buying low to sell high when it comes to profit down the line from players at Ibrox.
The director made it clear he planned to buy for lower prices and sell for a higher value as he looks to change the policy that has troubled the club in recent times.
A meagre £800k was brought in from Gers sales of FIVE players last year after the financial figures were revealed.
And the club’s target moving forward must be to significantly increase that number for any sales in future.
