Rangers are lining up the signings of two more players in the wake of Lawrence Shankland’s arrival.
The Shankland deal has sent a clear message of intent from Andrew Cavenagh and the Gers board this summer, but all signs suggest that it is only the beginning.
While the transfer window does not open until 15 June, momentum is building at Ibrox, and Rangers are determined to back up their first signing with further arrivals in quick succession.

Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!
Luke Graham and James Penrice set to follow Shankland through the door
According to Stephen McGowan, Dundee centre-back Luke Graham and AEK Athens left-back James Penrice both look likely to join Rangers this summer, representing a double signing that would signal Rangers mean serious business in this window.
Graham has been on the Glaswegian outfit’s radar for some time, with Dan Purdy personally attending matches to run the rule over the 22-year-old.
His own manager, Steven Pressley, has tipped him for the Premier League, and Rangers moving quickly to secure him would be another statement of ambition in the market.
Meanwhile, Penrice would come in to provide competition from Tuur Rommens, with Jayden Meghoma returning to Brentford at the end of his loan agreement.

McGowan also raised the prospect of Lewis Ferguson, though he acknowledged the Bologna midfielder may not be financially viable for Rangers at this stage.
Writing in The Herald, he noted: “Exploiting a contract clause to secure the captain of Hearts for next to nothing is only a starting point. Luke Graham of Dundee and AEK Athens left-back James Penrice look likely to follow suit, and while Lewis Ferguson might represent a bridge too far in financial terms, the direction of travel is now clear.”

Ferguson would be a masterstroke signing from Rangers
Ferguson has been a standout player for Bologna, leading them to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals and helping them finish eighth in Serie A.
The 26-year-old would be a transformative signing for Rangers. McGowan’s caveat around finances is an honest one, but his inclusion in the conversation at all suggests the Govan club are thinking ambitiously about the kind of squad they want to build.
The direction of travel, as McGowan puts it, is now clear. Shankland was the opening statement, Graham and Penrice are likely to follow, and more is sure to come from Ibrox.
