Chris Jack has revealed what he has been told about Rangers’ next move in the summer transfer window after lining up a deal for Lawrence Shankland.
It has only been a week since the 2025-26 season drew to a close, and the Light Blues are already making big moves in the summer transfer window.
Lawrence Shankland is set to become Rangers’ first signing of the summer, with a two-year deal with an option to extend already lined up.

Rangers moving quick in transfer market
There are suggestions that a clause in Shankland’s contract at Hearts allows him to finalise a transfer to Ibrox for free, as Andrew Cavenagh looks set to pull off a masterstroke.
Rangers will waste no time turning their attention towards other targets, according to Jack, who has learned about the club’s upcoming plans from sources.
The journalist revealed that the Ibrox outfit intend to remain on the front foot in the window in a bid to finalise the majority of their transfers as soon as possible.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Europa League qualifiers set to take place in the summer, the Govan club are keen to revamp their squad well in advance.

However, Jack refused to put a timeline on when the second signing of the summer will walk through the doors at the club.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel, he said: “A couple of people I’ve spoken to, they are keen for Rangers to continue being on the front foot, to continue getting the right quality and the right characters in the door.
“I don’t want to say there will be another by Wednesday, or there will be another by this time next week, or a week on Monday, no!
“I’m not going to put timescales on it, but I think we will see Rangers be as active as they possibly can be as early as they possibly can be.”

Shankland cuts short holiday to complete transfer
It has emerged that Shankland is cutting his holiday short to finalise his transfer to Rangers.
If all goes to plan, the Scotland international will put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Light Blues with an option to extend early this week.
Jack’s tone also suggests that the transfer is all but done, meaning the 30-year-old will go to the World Cup as a Rangers player.
Meanwhile, Danny Rohl‘s side are expected to add more Scottish players to their squad this summer, with Luke Graham firmly on their radar.
James Penrice is also said to be on the Glaswegian outfit’s shortlist.
