Rangers are looking to do business in January to bolster Philippe Clement’s squad for the rest of the season.
Despite much improved performances and results of late after an underwhelming start to the season, the current Gers players could do with a bit more support with reinforcements.
Summer signings like Jefte, Hamza Igamane and Nedim Bajrami are now coming to the fore after taking time to settle in, joining Vaclav Cerny who didn’t take as long to get up and running.
But there perhaps isn’t the strength in depth required at Ibrox currently so the recruitment department will be looking to add.
Clement is due to hold talks with the Rangers board about plans for January and the budget he will have to play with as he tries to strengthen.
As always, priorities in the market can change on an almost daily basis with injuries often throwing a spanner in the works and shifting the focus.

Rangers to prioritise centre-back in January
Philippe Clement confirmed John Souttar is out for several weeks with the injury picked up against Tottenham before missing the cup final defeat to Celtic.
He joins loan signing Neraysho Kasanwirjo, who is even longer term and back at parent club Feyenoord currently.
Rangers remain interested in signing Kasanwirjo permanently but that does nothing to help in the here and now.
That leaves the options at centre half very light with Robin Propper and Leon Balogun the only remaining senior players who are natural in that position.
Dujon Sterling can operate there and did so for 60 minutes of the Hampden clash but is naturally a right-back who can also play in midfield.
20-year-old Leon King is another option but hasn’t played ANY first-team football this season and was unused in the final. King recently dropped a hint over his Rangers future by swapping agent and going with Storm Sports X.
It was understood Gers were already looking to bolster that area of the pitch in January but that has now been heightened by the development with Souttar.
Rangers Review is reporting centre-back is now a top priority.
Where else will Rangers be looking to add?
Rangers have growing options in attack with several players coming back from injuries.
Clement is expecting wide men Oscar Cortes and Rabbi Matondo to be available soon after both started training and is excited by having more players available to him. Tom Lawrence is also nearing a comeback.
Cyriel Dessers now looks to be third choice striker behind Igamane and Danilo so there are options there too. Despite that, Rangers have been linked with two new strikers.
If there is a signing made at centre-forward, Dessers would be the likeliest candidate to be sold.
