Philippe Clement just witnessed his Rangers team hit Kilmarnock for six at Ibrox – but the Belgian boss is looking to add more firepower in the January window.
The Gers manager will be delighted after a resounding 6-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox, with all three of the club’s strikers getting on the scoresheet in Glasgow.
With James Tavernier resurgent and Vaclav Cerny also continuing his impressive form, for the first time in a long time Philippe Clement has goalscoring options in his squad.
Asked about Rangers’ January transfer plans heading into the game, Clement explained that there was meeting in the pipeline with the club’s board to finalise the winter strategy.
And speaking after the Scottish Premiership rout the Rangers manager sent a firm message to the Ibrox powerbrokers that he needs cold, hard cash to take this team to the next level.

Philippe Clement transfer update
”We’re going to have big discussions about what we’re going to need in January and of course what the budget will be,” Clement said following the Killie rout.
“Because everything stands or falls with the budget and we felt that in the summer transfer window also in that way.
“That we wanted more things we could do, that was the reality.
“So we will see what the budget is now and my job is to get the best out of the squad available, to get the best out of everybody in that way, but also to push to make it better.
“But we will see how the talks will go the next weeks.”
Rangers’ attacking options continue to grow
Philippe Clement wants to bolster the Rangers squad despite an increasing number of options returning for the Ibrox side a crucial moment of the season.
Danilo and Hamza Igamane both started and scored against Kilmarnock, whilst Cyriel Dessers came off the bench with a point to prove to score a double.
In the wide areas, Clement is excited by the imminent returns of Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes, whilst Tom Lawrence is also close to coming back for the Gers.
With Vaclav Cerny on a rich vein of form, Ianis Hagi back to his creative best and a tired Nedim Bajrami given the chance to catch a breather, suddenly Rangers look well-stocked up top.
But it’s an exciting notion for supporters that Rangers would re-enter the market for more firepower with two strikers linked to Ibrox already ahead of the January window.
