Leon King may have dropped a hint regarding his Rangers future this week.
The 20-year-old has not featured for the club this season outside of two B team appearances in the Challenge Cup.
King, once considered a future star at Ibrox, has played 37 times in total for Gers since he made his first-team debut in 2020 in a League Cup tie against Falkirk.
Now, though – with a lack of minutes under Philippe Clement – the young centre-half may have dropped a clue for eagle-eyed fans interested in what his next move might be.
And that is because the defender has switched agent to join some of his current teammates under their same representation.
King has opted to move away from CAA Base who boast the likes of Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze and James Maddison among their clients list.
Ross McCausland and Liam Kelly of Gers and Kyogo and Luis Palma of Celtic are part of Base’s Scottish contingent.
Leon King has swapped agent and moved to Storm Sports X
Now King has signed with StormSports X who have a raft of clients in Scotland including James Tavernier, Lawrence Shankland, James Penrice and Eamonn Brophy to name just a few.
They also have other big hitters from Scotland who play elsewhere including Lyndon Dykes and Jack Hendry while Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier and ex-Ibrox midfielder Glen Kamara is also signed with the business.
It comes following summer transfer speculation about King with Salford City interested in taking the Scotland under-21s star down south.
King could be one of a number of players who leave Rangers
We told you recently how Nils Koppen had issued a thinly veiled dig towards King and fellow kid Alex Lowry when he spoke about the academy.
And King has been named among a host of fringe players who could leave in the January window.
This change off the field could now be the catalyst for the player to instruct those at Storm to find him a new club as he seeks to play games to avoid stagnating.
