Rangers are set for another potentially busy transfer window in January.

With under a month until the winter window opens fans are hoping for that injection of quality that could really lift the team and ensure the second part of the season is an enjoyable one.

Plenty are in agreement that a new number nine would be nice with Cyriel Dessers still not convincing, Hamza Igame not the finished article and Danilo building up his match fitness.

And Philippe Clement will likely need to seek defensive cover after injuries to Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Dujon Sterling.

There will be other parts of the team the Belgian would ideally like to address to, so it could be a busy month.

Departures are also likely with some fringe men potentially offloaded but also some first picks having attracted ongoing interest.

Here, Rangers News looks at eight players who could be on the move in January.

Cyriel Dessers

After summer exit talk, Dessers continued to hold the mantle of the number one striker at the club at the start of the season. However, he has dropped out of the side for the last two games and didn’t even make it on the pitch against St Johnstone with Igamane and Danilo both preferred in that game. Given their was interest in Dessers in the summer, that could well be the case again in January. One pundit certainly thinks the striker isn’t in Philippe Clement’s long-term plans.

Ianis Hagi

Hagi has managed to force his way back into the Rangers first-team plans after resolving his situation. However, there has been constant talk of interest in his services with Borussia Monchengladbach recently named as a potential suitor of the Rangers playmaker.

James Tavernier

Chances of the Ibrox captain’s departure may have lessened with the news that Neraysho Kasanwirjo has gone back to Feyenoord and Dujon Sterling is also carrying an interest. But Tavernier is another who has always had interest and Gers could decide to cash in like they did with his pal Connor Goldson in the summer.

Robin Propper

Robin Propper has admitted himself that he is struggling to adapt to life in Scottish football. And while he insists he will come good, others have mooted a quick transfer exit from Rangers.

Leon King

Zero first-team minutes for the young defender this season. Zero. He must surely want to play more football, whether that is on a loan deal or permanently.

Kieran Dowell

Dowell has featured in eight league games this season but almost exclusively as a sub. There is a potential scenario where signings are brought in to push the Englishman even further down the pecking order and he becomes surplus to requirements.

Alex Lowry

In a similar position to King in that he is stagnating by not playing any meaningful football. Now at the age of 21, the skillful midfielder can take charge of his destiny by going out and playing regularly after his spell at Hearts last season was cut short. Has previously had other interest in the Premiership and down south.

Ridvan Yilmaz

Seems to be linked with a move back to Turkey in every window and it never comes to anything. His priority will be getting back to fitness and winning his place in the Rangers team back, but you never know.
