Rangers will have to exercise patience in their pursuit of Mikey Moore after Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the club will not make a decision on the teenager’s future until late in the transfer window.
The 18-year-old winger became a fan favourite at Ibrox during his loan stint last season, showcasing direct running, technical quality and key attacking contributions.
Having returned to North London for pre-season, Moore has continued to impress De Zerbi, but a potential second loan move to Glasgow remains put on hold.

De Zerbi remains coy as Spurs seek winger additions
Speaking to reporters ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season clash against Auckland FC, De Zerbi made it clear that while Moore’s development is being closely monitored, any potential loan exit depends on Spurs’ incoming transfer market moves.
Asked directly whether the England youth international could be sanctioned for another loan move, the Italian coach outlined Tottenham’s strategic timeline.
“We have to see”, De Zerbi was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
“We have to analyse the last part of the transfer market, because we try to bring wingers, and then we speak with him, with his agent, with the club, to find the best solution for everyone.”

Rangers maintain a keen interest in bringing Moore back to Scotland as part of their attacking rebuild, but De Zerbi’s comments outline three key reasons why a deal will not be happening imminently:
- Tottenham are actively shopping for new wide players, with Manchester City’s Savinho among those being targeted. Until those targets arrive at Hotspur Way, Moore will remain in the first-team group for depth.
- Any formal decision regarding a second loan spell in now set to hang in the balance until the closing days of the summer window, which ends in the first week of September.
- De Zerbi intends to hold structured talks involving Moore, his representative and senior Spurs hierarchy before greenlighting any move.
