Rangers have received a significant shot in the arm in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur ace Mikey Moore following a major transfer update out of Germany.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Marlon Irlbacher, Bundesliga outfit FC Koln have essentially withdrawn from the race to sign the 18-year-old English prodigy due to financial constraints.
While heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with credible interest in taking Moore on loan following his impressive development, Koln’s exit removes one of the most direct German competitors for his signature, clearing a much smoother pathway for Rangers.

The Billy Goats had earmarked Moore as a top target to bolster their attacking options on the flank.
However, Irlbacher revealed that a move for the Spurs winger is currently “not financially feasible” for the German side.
This means they were likely considering signing the teenager on a permanent deal, only for Spurs to slap a hefty price tag on him.
Furthermore, decision-makers at Koln view the likelihood of securing a straight loan deal as slim, which might mean there are other clubs ahead of them in the chase to take Moore on a temporary deal.
For the Bundesliga club, any renewed momentum would likely require a major departure, such as star forward Said El Mala, who is a target for Liverpool this summer.
With Koln effectively priced out and paralysed by internal conditions, a primary European rival for Moore’s signature has been removed from the board.
