Mikey Moore pre-season plans revealed as Rangers want to seal transfer

Rangers want to bring Mikey Moore to Ibrox for another season at least, with Tottenham securing their spot in the Premier League for the upcoming campaign.

Things may have been different had the Lilywhites been relegated, as they would have prioritised keeping the 18-year-old.

It would have seen a number of their first-team players leaving, so Roberto De Zerbi would have had to rely on his fringe players and youngsters to help Spurs secure promotion next season.

Roberto De Zerbi wants to assess Mikey Moore in pre-season

Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has stated that the Lilywhites have no plans of selling Mikey Moore permanently this summer.

Gold claims that De Zerbi wants to assess the young English winger in pre-season before deciding on whether or not he should be sent out on loan.

The Italian manager knows that it is important for the teenager to get regular game time in order to develop as a player, but is unsure if that can happen in North London.

However, his being loaned out remains very much on the cards, with Rangers keenly waiting on De Zerbi’s decision.

Gold said: “Mikey Moore, from what I understand, Spurs are just not entertaining permanent offers for him.

“De Zerbi wants to have a little look at him in preseason and then make a decision on him.

“He could go out on loan eventually.

“Loads of interest in him, both at home and abroad.”

Can Vaclav Cerny and Moore join Rangers this summer?

Last season, Andreas Skov Olsen and Moore were the go-to wide players for Danny Rohl, and the duo are no longer at Ibrox.

While the Gers have some players in the wide areas, they are not of the standard that Derek McInnes would want, especially if he aims to win the league next season.

Signing Moore would give him more of a chance of achieving that, but Rangers could also bring in Vaclav Cerny.

As things stand, he is among the options being considered by Ibrox, as signing a right-winger is a priority.

Cerny has credit in the bank given his previous stint at the club, which could play a role in his potential return.
