Dundee look to have secured the loan return of Liverpool left-back Owen Beck after Rangers had a January approach for the player rebuffed.
The 21-year-old Wales left-back is on the verge of a stunning return to Dens Park after the Anfield side had initially recalled Beck during an injury crisis earlier in the season.
At least that’s according to the likes of BBC Scotland journalist Jane Park, who claims the final touches of the deal are now being finalised.
Should the deal be completed as expected it will cap a whirlwind month for Owen Beck, who had made his Liverpool debut in a 4-0 romp over Bournemouth earlier in the month.
Owen Beck lines up Dundee return
Both Rangers and Old Firm rivals Celtic were strongly linked with a January move for Owen Beck, both Glasgow clubs on the hunt for a new left-back in the transfer window.
There had even been claims that both Rangers and Celtic had initial approaches rebuffed by Liverpool as the club lost Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas to injury.
As a result of that substitute appearance against the Cherries on Premier League duties, the transfer talk was immediately silenced with Owen Beck already playing for two teams this season.
But as the Reds begin to return to their full complement in the position a transfer return to Dundee with a view to more playing more looks to be on the cards.
Rangers-linked Liverpool left-back returns to Scotland
Whilst Rangers have now moved onto other left-back options – namely Brazilian option Jefté – the situation with Owen Beck and Dundee will interest fans.
The youngster has been on superb form for the Dee this season and the fact Liverpool recalled Owen Beck is a testament to his progress in Scotland.
Manager Tony Docherty has been speaking about a potential return and admitted over the weekend that he would “jump” at the chance to bring Beck back up north.

“You know the effect that Owen Beck’s had on everbody, not just the football club but within the stadium and the fans,” said Docherty.
“If we had any chance to get Owen back we would jump at the chance because he was such a pivotal player for us in the first part of the season.
“If we get the chance to work with him again, it’d be great. It’s down to his parent club at the moment and we’ll just have to watch this space.”
Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz continues to be strongly linked with a late move to Galatasaray.
