Rangers-linked Montenegrin striker Nikola Krstovic signs off the season with Slovak outfit Dunajska Streda by netting his 26th goal of the campaign.
The 23-year-old forward scored the only goal of the game by neatly rolling the ball past the Banksa Bystrica keeper in the final Playoff match of the Slovak top flight season.
The goal capped off what’s been a monumental season for Nikola Krstovic and comes on the back of much transfer conjecture surrounding the striker heading into the summer.
Kristovic’s 26 goals have helped Dunajska Streda to a second-place finish in the Slovak Super Liga, the club narrowly missing out on the championship to Slovan Bratislava by two points.
But despite the potential shot at European glory next season with the club, Krstovic has been linked with an exit and, more specifically, a transfer to Rangers.
Rangers Nikola Krstovic doubts amid striker hunt
It appears that Football Insider are the outlet most closely linking Rangers to Krstovic, even if the website previously claimed the striker is “not a number one target” for the Ibrox side this summer.
That report – coming back in February – also claims Rangers are likely to be priced out of a move, with his club set to demand up to £5m for the striker.
There are claims that the Slovak side turned down January offers for the forward and, given that Krstovic is contracted there until 2027, any interested suitors will have to cough up.

This, according to FI, could potentially price Rangers out of any move.
But – Josh Maja aside – there have been few Rangers transfer rumours surrounding the striking position this summer, with the club expected to invest heavily in this area come the window.
With pre-contract investments seemingly to come in other areas of the squad, maybe that £5m price tag attached to Krstovic isn’t so bad after all.
Rangers are set to lose first-choice Everton-linked Alfredo Morelos when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Croatian forward Antonio Colak has also been linked with an exit, while the talented Kemar Roofe continues to have his Ibrox career besieged by injury.
