It doesn’t happen very often at all these days.
In fact there has only been a handful of times in history a player has crossed the Old Firm divide to play for both Rangers and Celtic.
Now, though, defender Greg Taylor is seeing out the end of his contract across the city at Parkhead and he has transfer interest in his services.
And Kris Boyd has already urged Gers to ask Taylor, at the very least, the question of moving to Ibrox.

Michael Stewart urges Rangers to sign Greg Taylor from Celtic
Now Michael Stewart has thrown his two cents into the mix and insisted Rangers could and should make an attempt to convince the 27-year-old to swap allegiances because he feels Taylor is “better” than what is already on show with the Light Blues.
Speaking on the Premier Sports Scottish Football Social Club, he said: “I actually floated this idea two or three weeks ago. From a Rangers perspective, yeah I would.
“I don’t know what Greg Taylor will be thinking, but from Rangers perspective, it’s a free transfer and he is in the Scotland squad so it’s another Scottish player which is a huge asset.
“I don’t know whether Greg Taylor would be interested but he’s a quality player. But for me he’s better than Jefte and he’s better than (Ridvan) Yilmaz. So I would do it.”

Robert Campbell, 119 years ago, was the last player who joined either side of the divide directly from their rivals.
And that should prove just how uncommon it has become in recent years.
| Greg Taylor, 2024/5 | Ridvan Yilmaz 2024/5 | Jefte 2024/5 |
| Played: 36 | Played: 27 | Played: 45 |
| Goals: 1 | Goals: 0 | Goals: 0 |
| Assists: 7 | Assists: 2 | Assists: 2 |
Kenny Miller, meanwhile, has played for both clubs – and Rangers twice even after a move to Celtic – while Mo Johnston shocked the world when he made his move back in 1989.
Celtic youth Francis Turley turned down Rangers in favour of a move over there and summed up the traditional sentiment by suggesting there was ‘no chance’ he’d play for Rangers.
Big Oz Craig Moore also reckoned Rangers could do worse than Taylor and that a Scotland international within the squad would be a big plus.
Apparently Rangers would face stiff competition if they decided to pursue the Taylor avenue.
Taylor has Dinamo interest in Croatia and there’s seemingly a lucrative offer on his table.
