Motherwell midfielder Elliot Watt is set to leave for a £2m fee amid links with a summer transfer to Rangers.
Watt was liked by the Rangers hierarchy as the club were prepared to sign a number of midfielders in this transfer window.
Thus far, two have arrived in Cammy Devlin and Dan Neil, and Derek McInnes is optimistic about completing deals for Vanja Dragojevic and Jens Hjerto-Dahl as well.
What are your expectations from Jens Hjerto-Dahl at Rangers?
Rangers appear to be closing in on his signing!
Samsunspor agree deal to sign Elliot Watt for £2m
Turkish side Samsunspor reached an agreement with Motherwell to secure the services of Watt for a £2m fee, according to the Daily Record.
The 26-year-old will be moving to Samsunspor on a four-year contract, having agreed to lucrative terms.
It’s understood that the Super Lig outfit will be paying £1.6m upfront, and the remaining £400k will be paid in add-ons.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
The midfielder has already travelled to Turkey for his medical, and the deal should be finalised within the next 48 hours.
Watt was linked with a host of clubs in Europe as well as in the MLS, but he opted to move to Samsunspor.
The Steelmen will be making a significant profit as they signed him on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Burton Albion last summer.

How advanced was Rangers’ interest in Watt?
Watt was among the midfielders Rangers were looking at when they were making plans for the summer transfer window.
Back then, Danny Rohl was in charge at Ibrox, and the 26-year-old was understood to be someone he fancied.
Alan Hutton also backed Rangers’ pursuit as he is an admirer of the Scotsman and believed he could be a solid addition to the side.
What have YOU made of Andrew Cavenagh’s time as Chairman? 🤔
He is delivering on his promises…
He was eyed as a replacement for Nicolas Raskin, but the interest from the Light Blues never materialised into anything serious.
Rangers News understands that Watt was discussed internally, but there were no club-to-club talks or any approach made by the Gers to his representatives.
Interest also seemingly cooled when McInnes became the manager, as he wanted other midfielders at Ibrox.
