Aberdeen star Leighton Clarkson has urged his teammate touted for a Rangers move in recent weeks to stay put at Pittodrie beyond the January transfer window.
Macedonian hitman Bojan Miovski has been named by The Sun as a player interesting Rangers ahead of the winter transfer season, with Celtic also claimed to be keeping tabs on the deadly striker.
Miovski has 14 goals in 27 games for the Dons so far this season and is on track to eclipse his 18-goal tally set during his first season at Aberdeen after signing from MTK Budapest for just £500k.
Rangers boss Philippe Clement has confirmed a new striker is a priority for him next month, with Cyriel Dessers the only fit and available No9 option at the moment due to Danilo and Kemar Roofe’s injury woes.
So could Miovski be that man? Well, perhaps not because Rangers could be priced out of a deal to sign the 24-year-old. Aberdeen reportedly want at least £4.5m for their star player and while nothing can be off the cards, the Dons will make it very difficult to sign Miovski according to both Barry Robson and CEO Alan Burrows.

Of course, Miovski’s teammate Clarkson is in the same school of thought and in a recent interview with the Daily Record, he underlined how vital the striker is to Aberdeen’s journey this season.
Formerly of Liverpool, Clarkson said: “It is very important (Miovski stays). He has pulled us out of a lot of games this year and he is a top quality striker.
“I would love him to stay and I know the rest of the team and the fans do as well. Yes, definitely. In terms of the numbers he has so far – 14 goals – is very good and we have not been playing at our best as well.
“He scores lots of goals and I have a good connection on the pitch in terms of his movement. His movement is excellent. So he has done really well and we just want him to keep improving.”
Miovski is adored by his teammates, his manager and his chief executive. It’s looking fairly unlikely that Rangers would shell out a record transfer exchanged between two Scottish clubs for the talented forward.
But there’s no doubting his ability and he’d be a fantastic January addition to soften our current attacking woes.
