Rangers’ inconsistency is now a real frustration for everyone involved with the club.
A brilliant Old Firm display lifted the mood around Ibrox and was the perfect platform and opportunity for the team to kick on and go on a run of wins.
But they blew it and Celtic were able to increase their lead at the top back to 13 points after Rangers dropped yet more points away from home with a 3-3 draw at Hibs.
Even more frustratingly, Gers were in control at 2-0 and looked like they could rack up any scoreline before somehow letting the home side back into it. Hamza Igamane’s hat-trick clinching goal put them in front again but another late goal was conceded.
It makes it three straight away defeats in the Premiership for Philippe Clement’s side.
A fuming Liam Kelly let rip at his Rangers teammates and admitted the Easter Road display left him angry.
While Kris Boyd slaughtered the Gers team in the Sky Sports studio and warned the pressure will increase on Clement again.
But there was one individual who has won some praise.
Billy Dodds a big fan of Jefte
Billy Dodds thought Brazilian left-back Jefte was impressive despite what went on around about him.
The former Rangers striker says the summer signing has a brilliant attitude and was the one player he saw on the pitch trying to carry out his responsibilities properly.
And he insists the Rangers fans are right to have taken to Jefte.
Dodds said on BBC Radio Scotland: “I really like him.
“I think he has always played with the right attitude even when Rangers were losing games, he was the one that showed a willingness and wanted to go about his job properly.
“I think that is why the Rangers fans really like him.”
Jefte impressed in Celtic hammering
Jefte had already been praised for his part in Rangers’ convincing win over Celtic.
“He’s (Ridvan Yilmaz) enjoyed himself today, Neil McCann told Sky Sports. “I was worried about him but Maeda has had no change out of him
“When he has come inside, he’s on his strong side for Yilmaz. He’d hate it if he goes down the outside.
“[With] Bajrami sitting on McGregor, he’s nullified. Bajrami did well on McGregor, stopping Celtic from playing through. It’s been so so impressive. Celtic have been so careless but you have to credit Rangers.
“I think Jefte has done really well. Its the quietest I have seen Nicolas Kuhn all season. He has been their go-to man so often.”
