Kris Boyd slaughters ‘terrible’ Rangers and fires stern Ibrox warning to Philippe Clement

Kris Boyd reckons Rangers boss Philippe Clement has undone the good work of the win over Celtic in a frenetic draw with Hibs.

The Ibrox manager claims that Rangers’ ‘glaring’ lack of physicality is costing the club on the road with the Gers’ abysmal away record continuing at Easter Road.

Rangers have won only three games out of ten matches on the road this season, gaining 12 points from a possible total of 30.

It is an unacceptable return from any Rangers team and it is central to the club’s meek title resistance in the face Celtic’s dominance this season.

Despite Rangers landing a bloody nose on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership earlier in the week, Kris Boyd reckons any goodwill afforded Philippe Clement has just evaporated.

Kris Boyd slaughters Rangers away form

“You look at Rangers in terms of that physicality that we spoke about before the game and it was glaring again today,” Boyd told Sky Sports.

”It’s now 12 points from a possible 30 away from home. You can gloss over it.

“I said it after the game on Thursday, the away form is terrible and it has to get better. There’s no getting away from it.

”And the pressure is going to come back on Philippe Clement now because you’re 2-0 up, cruising and for whatever reason you decide to take a step back and allow Hibs back into the game.

”The longer that game went on, you know you felt as if there was only going to be one winner.

”If it wasn’t for Igamane and three great finishes, especially the third one, you wonder where Rangers would’ve been.”

Philippe Clement a manager under pressure

Rangers can’t blame anyone but themselves for dropping yet more points on the road against a form Hibs team in Edinburgh.

Rangers’ Scottish Premiership away form has been abysmal all season long and the team struggle with the intensity and physicality of Scottish football on the road.

Philippe Clement has been unable to find the answers for the club’s rotten away form and if it continues we suspect patience might begin to wear thin amongst Ibrox fans.

Should Rangers fall 13 points behind them Parkhead side despite only just cutting the gap then we expect Kris Boyd might just be right.
