Rangers let slip a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Hibs at Easter Road and continue the club’s abysmal away from in the Scottish Premiership.

The Ibrox side started the match as they left off against Celtic and raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to two goals from Hamza Igamane in the first half.

Rangers then let Hibs back into the match and toiled physically throughout, with Rangers’ weak-willed defence and midfield losing the battle and eventually giving away a second half penalty.

Despite Hamza Igamane netting a third goal and completing a hat-trick in the second half, Rocky Bashiri completed the scoring with a header from a corner.

Here’s how the Rangers players rated in the Scottish Premiership clash against Hibs at Easter Road.

Rangers player ratings v Hibs (Scottish Premiership)

Liam Kelly – 5

Had little to do between the sticks and was well beaten by Hibs’ only shot on target in the first half, for which he had little chance of saving.

Liam Kelly was not as effective as he was against Celtic with the ball at his feet but the goalkeeper was always available for a pass as Rangers built from the back.

Dived the wrong way as Hibs equalised from the penalty spot but was well positioned to save a Gayle header.

Found himself in no-man’s land for Hibs’ equaliser at 3-3 and won’t want to remember this afternoon.

Conceded his first goals as a Rangers player at Easter Road.

Ridvan Yilmaz – 5

Once again asked to start at right-back and naturally at times Ridvan Yilmaz opted to try and cut inside on his left foot.

Has a real eye for a pass and can carry the ball up the pitch. Looked comfortable at times on the right-hand side and was an energetic presence throughout.

At times however the final pass or the final effort was lacking from Yilmaz, who does have a tendency to hold on to the ball for too long or overhit the pass.

Routinely dribbled into trouble, put teammates under pressure and struggled with the physicality of Hibs throughout.

Dujon Sterling – 5

Dujon Sterling has had his critics at centre-back after making mistakes in away defeats to St Mirren and Motherwell and the defender was the Ibrox side’s last line of defence at Easter Road.

Had a mixed afternoon dealing with crosses into the box and was caught a bit static as Hibs fired in their opening goal.

Gives his all but is player clearly playing out of position and eventually went off with injury after jostling with Dwight Gayle.

Robin Propper – 5

Robin Propper has came into his own at Rangers in the last few matches and was up against it in the conditions of the game at Easter Road.

Caught short on Hibs’ first goal, there were moments when Propper went in hard on the Hibs attack but the defender clearly struggles with the physical side of the Scottish game.

Can see a pass and is growing in confidence but needs to become more commanding in his defending against physical forward players.

Still not a reliable Rangers centre-half.

Jefte – 4

Jefte huffed and puffed as he always does for Rangers but whilst the Brazilian took more touches than any other player in the first half, they were often not in effective enough areas.

You always get 100% effort but the quality was lacking at Easter Road and defensively Jefte had a very sloppy afternoon.

Slack in his passing and in his dribbling, the left-back was also left floundering for the first header in Hibs’ first goal of the afternoon and it was on Jefte’s side the Hibs penalty was given away.

Not physical enough in the challenge and too routinely shoved off the ball, the Brazilian had a difficult afternoon in Edinburgh.

Nicolas Raskin – 6

Rangers’ commander in chief in midfielder, Nicolas Raskin is slowly becoming the heartbeat of the Ibrox side and one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Another tireless display from the Belgian midfielder who always finds himself picking up loose balls, breaking up play and acting as the fulcrum of the Rangers attacks.

Given the frenetic nature of the match, Raskin didn’t quite impose himself as he has recently but the midfielder still played a crucial role spraying passes, setting the tempo and holding the team together.

On an afternoon like this, we’re increasingly looking to Raskin to stand up and make the difference.

Mohamed Diomande – 5

Mohamed Diomande was one of the best players on the park in the first half but faded as the Hibs fightback begun towards the second period.

Plays a disciplined role in the Rangers team at times and displays genuine quality on the ball but there were moments when he struggled to transition defence into attack.

Sloppy in the pass and another who really struggles with the intensity of the physical battle on the road, Diomande still has so much maturing to do in the Rangers midfield.

Bye the biggest problem is a crucial lack of quality when it matters, with the midfielder at times taking sloppy touches and failing to create enough opportunities.

Loses concentration and needs to take more match-winning responsibility.

Nedim Bajrami – 6

Nedim Bajrami has certainly improved in recent matches and Rangers fans are beginning to like what they see when it comes to the Albanian’s creativity.

Found Hamza Igamane for Rangers’ second goal with a delightful cross and when the Ibrox side were on top, Bajrami was a progressive and creative player always looking for the killer ball.

Also had a number of shots on goal but none heralded the necessary rewards and Bajrami was eventually changed for Danilo.

Faded as the game became more competitive.

Vaclav Cerny – 6

Vaclav Cerny might’ve teed up Hamza Igamane’s hat-trick goal against Hibs but the winger struggled to impose himself in the game as he normally does.

Perhaps a victim of fatigue, Cerny did have a couple of efforts on goal but he at times cut an isolated figure out wide as the game slipped out of Rangers’ hands.

Needed more from Rangers’ main man when the chips were down and he just ran out of gas.

Ianis Hagi – 5

Ianis Hagi was one of Rangers’ best players against Celtic and started in the same vein against Hibs attack Easter Road.

Teeing up Hamza Igamane for the game’s opener, Hagi wound up getting too riled up by the physical battle and is another who is yet to convince us he can manage this side of the game in Scotland.

Clumsily challenged Chris Cadden for the Rangers penalty and was eventually hooked with the energy of the game passing him by.

Hamza Igamane – 9

Rangers’ Man of the Moment, had it not been for Hamza Igamane at Easter Road we’d probably be staring at a defeat.

Whilst the Moroccan’s teammates were losing the physical battle all over the pitch and struggling with a Hibs’ intensity, Igamane was rifling in almost every opportunity that fell his way.

A superb piece of positioning found space for the opener before he crucially rifled it home, with a well-placed header beating the keeper for the second.

Found space again to fire Rangers in front at 3-2 and almost single-handedly won the game with the match tied at 3-3 after somehow outmuscling Rocky Bashiri.

Hit the post but most certainly not culpable for yet more dropped points.

Substitutions

Leon King – 3: Forced on after an injury to Dujon Sterling and took a no-nonsense approach to defending. Nowhere near Rocky Bashiri for Hibs’ equaliser

Connor Barron, Oscar Cortes, Danilo – N/A: All three came off the pitch without having done enough to impact the game.
