Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has now undergone a Hibernian medical with a view to a move to the Edinburgh club, according to Sky Sports News.
The talented 19-year-old was reportedly set to undergo the medical yesterday [Daily Record] and according to the broadcaster that has now taken place.
It suggests Middleton will move to Easter Road in the short-term in a deal which strengthens Hibs and surely helps with Glenn’s development.
It’s an interesting move given how close Steven Gerrard told the press Middleton was to signing for Dutch second-tier side NAC Breda.
Speaking before the match with Kilmarnock, Gerrard praised the youngster’s courage and appeared excited at the prospect of the move.
But Hibs stole a march on the Dutch club in the eleventh hour and now Middleton looks set to move to Edinburgh in search of game time.
It’s not the first time Middleton’s short-term future has taken a drastic change after a move somewhere appeared to be on.
The former Norwich youth looked all set to move to Doncaster [Daily Record] earlier in the transfer window but after then Dons boss Grant McCann moved to Hull City, the move collapsed.

But now a move to Hibernian appears to be on the cards.
It’s an exciting move in of itself for Glenn, with Paul Heckingbottom’s side playing attractive, expansive football.
On top of that, not only does Middleton get the chance to develop in Scotland and get minutes under his belt, but he also weakens other sides and can indirectly help Rangers’ title charge.
