The Daily Record reports that Glenn Middleton is set for a medical at Hibernian, ahead of a loan move.
The 19-year-old winger had previously been thought to be on the verge of a temporary move to second division Dutch side NAC Breda [Scottish Sun].
However, Hibs swooped in late on and appear to have won the battle.

Rangers wide man Middleton set for Easter Road switch

It’s understandable that the Gers are seeking a loan move for this bright young talent.
Middleton impressed across the first half of last season, featuring 27 times in all competitions and netting five goals.
However, his opportunities were much more limited after the winter break. In fact, he’s only turned out three times for the first team in 2019, and on each occasion, he came on as a substitute [Soccerbase]. Instead, he found himself starring for the club’s Reserves and age-group sides.
After the summer arrivals of Sheyi Ojo, Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie, a similar situation beckoned ahead of this campaign. Therefore, a move away in search of senior football is a sensible option.

When Hibs’ initial interest was reported, it was
well-received by some Bears. Perhaps surprisingly so.
There’s quite a considerable rivalry between the clubs and last season, the Easter Road outfit thwarted Gerrard’s Gers on multiple occasions. The two sides are set to face off in the league next Sunday, and by that time, it looks likely that Middleton will have secured his temporary move to Edinburgh.
Due to loan regulations, though, he won’t be eligible to play against his parent club.
