Rangers are keeping their cards close to their chest so far in a transfer window that has been subdued since the moment it opened.

Philippe Clement is wanting more depth in his squad with the manager losing two senior players without them getting replaced.

Rafael Fernandes arrived without any hint until he was pictured outside Ibrox with reports suggesting that Rangers could make a last-minute deal for a forward.

Second Francis Amuzu move breaks down with Rangers looking for a winger

A late bid was made for Yorbe Vertessen but Nils Koppen wasn’t quick enough and the Belgian forward has signed for RB Salzburg.

Couhaib Driouech has been whispered on social media, the PSV Eindhoven winger having spoken about an offer from Rangers in the summer.

Another possible name, is Francis Amuzu, a player linked to a move to Glasgow on no less than three occasions.

Ironically, Amuzu’s playing time has been restricted at RSC Anderlecht due to the loan signing of Samuel Edozie.

The Southampton winger only moved to the Royals after a deadline beating move to Rangers collapsed at the 11th hour – literally.

How much would Amuzu cost?

According to Belgian football journalist Sacha Tovolieri, Amuzu has now seen a second transfer collapse with Anderlecht looking for a modern-day pittance of just £1.5m to seal a permanent deal:

“Francis Amuzu will not go to Paris Football Club! While discussions were in full swing until this morning, the Parisians never managed to find the formula to convince Francis Amuzu and his entourage.

“Napoli will finalise this Monday the arrival on loan (with option to buy) of Noah Okafor which closes the Neapolitan track.

“The Belgian should therefore stay at Anderlecht this Monday but still hopes that Gremio Porto Alegre, the Brazilian winter transfer window closing on February 28, will arrive as a last resort.”

Amuzu has seven goal contributions this season, which doesn’t seem like a lot until you factor in he has only played 1000 minutes.

With Clement wanting the players who have left replaced, Amuzu would be an obvious like, for like, option to step into the locker vacated by Rabbi Matondo, except the 25-year old wouldn’t spend as much time in the treatment room.
