Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has previously given his backing to Rangers-linked Yokohama F Marinos manager Kevin Muscat.
Now at Tottenham Hotspur, Ange Postecoglou was in charge of the Japanese club before Kevin Muscat came into replace him and replicate the ex-Parkhead boss’ success in the J-League.
After Rangers sacked Michael Beale, Kevin Muscat has been named as a potential replacement and Australian coach Ange Postecoglou has previously suggested his countryman is set to breakthrough into the big leagues.

Ange Postecoglou tips Kevin Muscat for the top
Rangers fans are watching the club’s movements with regards the new manager very closely and Kevin Muscat is one of the more prominent names doing the rounds.
Having spent one season at Ibrox back in 02/03, conversely when the club last won the treble, Muscat knows the expectations in Glasgow.
But at the risk of mirroring Celtic and their move for Ange Postecoglou, it will take a big interview for Kevin Muscat to convince a Rangers board wary of setting themselves up for a fail.
Having also tasted success in the Australian A-League with Melbourne Victory, Kevin Muscat has a proven track record of winning and this is perhaps his biggest appeal.

Combine the fact that the manager is an ex-Rangers player and that he plays an attacking brand of football – something even previously lauded by Pep Guardiola – and the links are certainly interesting.
Reports have suggested that Kevin Muscat is one of four managers currently on a Rangers shortlist as the club looks to appoint the right man to take them back to winning ways.
According to some, Kevin Muscat is also very interested in taking the job at Rangers with the Ibrox side surely set to at least interview the Australian.
