Rangers have drawn up a four-man shortlist which includes Frank Lampard, Philippe Clement, Pascal Jansen and Kevin Muscat as the hunt for a new manager steps up.
According to Matt Law of the the Telegraph, these are the four names at the top of the list for Rangers in a diverse selection of names and styles.
Frank Lampard – who has struggled as manager of Chelsea and Everton – is perhaps the biggest name on the list but there are reservations about the England legend.
Yes the ex-Stamford Bridge star has the sort of profile Rangers needs for their next manager but there doubts about the manager’s coaching ability.
Philippe Clement is a lesser known name but is a coach of substantial pedigree given he most recently managed AS Monaco in Ligue 1.
Having also spent time in charge of Genk and Club Brugge in Belgium, Rangers fans might get a bit of the Paul le Guen’s from the coach who has recently just been sacked in France.

Dutch, Aussie, English and French on new Rangers manager shortlist
Dutch coach Pascal Jansen is one name which is interesting Rangers fans with reports claiming that the AZ Alkmaar boss is interested in the job at Ibrox.
Unbeaten in the Eredivisie this season, the manager has a burgeoning reputation but the costs involved could limit Rangers’ freedom to make a deal.
Last but by no means least on the apparent shortlist to become the new Rangers manager is Australian manager Kevin Muscat.

Having replaced ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos, Rangers run the risk of shadowing their Old Firm rivals in a move which will backfire spectacularly if it goes wrong.
But with the ex-Ibrox defender highly-rated on the managerial circuit in the Far East, Kevin Muscat does appear to be one of the frontrunners to become the next Rangers manager.
