Philippe Clement got the ball rolling early doors when Fabio Silva signed for Rangers before the transfer window was even officially open.
The Gers boss was clearly keen to add to the creativity and depth in his squad’s forward line with Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes also arriving.
The question being asked was whether or not Fabio Silva was the type of player that Rangers actually needed but the 21-year old has been quick to ease these fears.

The on-loan Wolves forward has already explained what type of striker he is, he isn’t the type of number nine who will poach in and around the box like a Jermaine Defoe or Antonio Colak would.
Ironically, this was exactly the type of goal that Fabio Silva opened his Rangers account with.
When asked if he was happy to get off the mark, the former Porto wonderkid explained that there is more to his game than just goals:
“Very happy of course, I am a striker everyone knows we live from the goals but the most important is the way I can help the team with my movements, my work, defensive and offensive.
“I always say that but it’s true. When you work hard and do things right they come naturally.
“Of course it will come but it’s important for me and gives me the confidence.
“The most important is the result.”
Fabio Silva is a striker and one that Rangers fans can grow to love if they give him a chance.
There are shades of Nikica Jelavic to his play in that he will drift around and interchange with midfielders and wingers and has the technical ability to move the ball quickly in tight spaces.
Philippe Clement sees Silva as a player that he can trust after starting him at Easter Road and the early signs are that he will cause opposition defences problems.
Unlike some strikers though, Silva appreciates that it isn’t all about him – no wonder Clement likes him so much amid reports of a possible extension to his time at the club.
