Mikey Moore reacts as Rangers make Bailey Rice announcement

Moore and Bailey Rice have developed a strong friendship and even have been vacationing together recently.

Thus, the Spurs youngster would have known that the Scottish midfielder was set to extend his stay in Glasgow, and the club even made it official on Monday.

Moore, via his Instagram story, wrote: “Bailey Rice, yes brother.”

Rice appeared on his way out of Rangers as an impasse had been reached with regards to contract negotiations.

He had not featured under Rohl due to an injury, and it looked like he had played his final game for the Ibrox outfit.

Manchester City were also considering signing Rice amid uncertainty surrounding his future.

However, it looks like the 19-year-old got the assurances he was looking for in order to extend his stay at Govan.

Paul Nsio had been touted for a first-team role, but with Rice staying, it remains to be seen what the plan is for him.

How is Rice likely to be handled by Derek McInnes?

McInnes knows that he’s got a talented prospect on his hands in Rice.

With the teenager extending his deal, he would want to see more involvement in the first team, which may not be guaranteed initially.

If Lewis Ferguson joins post the World Cup, who should Derek McInnes name the Rangers captain?

This is assuming Nicolas Raskin leaves Rangers…

What McInnes is likely to do is that he will assess Rice in pre-season, see how he fares compared to the other midfielders in the team, and also make a decision based on what other players in his position are doing.

If Nicolas Raskin, Lyall Cameron and Mohamed Diomande leave, then the Rangers boss is more likely to keep the Scottish midfielder.

He also may feel that his development will be better suited if he plays regularly at a Premiership club next season and could sanction a loan exit.
