Rangers are understood to be working on a deal to bring Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson back to Ibrox this summer.
Despite the arrival of Dan Neil, Derek McInnes is keen on signing at least one more midfielder in the coming weeks.
There could be more midfield arrivals as the likes of Nicolas Raskin, Mohamed Diomande and Connor Barron have all been linked with exits.

Lewis Ferguson spotted in North Lanarkshire, Scotland
Lewis Ferguson was spotted in Wishaw, which is in North Lanarkshire, as he is resting following Scotland’s World Cup campaign.
Despite their group stage exit, the 26-year-old was among the standout performers and will not be short on suitors this summer.
Currently, he is away from the rest of his Bologna teammates, enjoying his vacation, but he has yet to decide what the future holds for him.
While he has not stated explicitly that he wants to leave, there has also been no confirmation about his staying put in Italy.
Along with Rangers, there are other clubs in Europe also willing to take a punt on him if he does decide to leave.
Rangers News understands that it will take at least £17m initially to persuade Bologna into cashing in on him in the coming weeks.
If Lewis Ferguson joins post the World Cup, who should Derek McInnes name the Rangers captain?
This is assuming Nicolas Raskin leaves Rangers…
What is the latest on Rangers’ pursuit of Ferguson?
Rangers remain interested in Ferguson, but his asking fee is something that will be a challenge for them.
It would mean they would have to break their transfer record and that is only likely to happen if they can generate big money from one of their players.
Derek McInnes likes Ferguson and would love to bring him back to Ibrox, but he is aware of the financial situation of the club.
If Rangers are to sell Thelo Aasgaard, how much should he be sold for?
Rangers have been made aware of the finances involved in the deal, both in terms of his wages and transfer fee, but are yet to engage in advanced negotiations with the Scotland international.
With him currently being in Scotland, they could look to use this as an opportunity to have a face-to-face interaction.
As things stand, nothing is advanced with regard to the transfer, and the deal is more likely not to happen than to happen.
