Former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has been discussing former teammate Alfredo Morelos and claims the Colombian striker “wants to be at Rangers”.
Morelos’ electric form for Rangers this season is said to have attracted the likes of Aston Villa [Football Insider] and Crystal Palace [Scottish Sun], with Villa boss Dean Smith saying “watch this space” [Scottish Sun] when asked about a move.
But when it comes to whether Morelos will be pushing for a move or not, Lafferty opened up on the change in Alfredo and the 23-year-old’s role at Ibrox.

“Alfredo wants to be at Rangers, he’s comfortable there now,” said Lafferty [Daily Record].
“When I joined the club, Alfredo came back from his holiday and was totally different to what I expected.
“His decision making was better, he was happier – he looked spot on. And he hasn’t looked back since.
“I see a different person now. I didn’t realise how good he was before I joined Rangers.
“He’s brilliant and now wants to be known as the Rangers player who scores goals for them and wins them titles, instead of all the nonsense that went on around him with the red cards, some of which weren’t his fault.”
Lafferty’s comments are in stark contrast to statements Alfredo Morelos reportedly made to the Colombian press this week.
The Daily Record translated comments attributed to Morelos which appeared to suggest a January move could be on the horizon.

You get the feeling that if the money’s too good Rangers will be forced to deal for the Colombian.
But these comments from Kyle Lafferty, his celebrations against Ross County and comments from Steven Gerrard [Herald] appear to suggest that any transfer won’t be through him forcing a move.
