Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has responded to questions about his January transfer plans, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
The Premier League side have been linked with Gers striker Alfredo Morelos, with Football Insider claiming that they have set £20 million aside for a swoop.
The Birmingham-based club spent heavily in the summer bringing in 12 new players for a combined cost of close to £150m [Express], but more spending hasn’t been ruled out.

“Suso’s got all of his scouts out looking at things, but January is a long, long way at the moment and we’ve got a lot of games to play,” he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“Watch this space.”
Smith wasn’t willing to admit interest in Morelos, but it sounds like the Villa Park outfit will be looking to strengthen to some extent during the next window.
Up front is an area in which they could look to get reinforcements, given that Wesley and Jonathan Kodija are the club’s only out and out forwards. It’s not like the team are desperately short of goals though, having scored 12 in their last four games in all competitions.
It’s no wonder there are rumours swirling about El Bufalo considering his current form.
The Colombian has 14 goals already this season [Soccerbase] and on Friday, was awarded the SPFL Player of the Month award for September.
