Lyall Cameron could well be a Rangers player next season.
The chatter around the Dundee star man and the interest in him is growing by the day and it was reported yesterday by Sky Sports that Gers are working on a deal for Cameron.
They do face competition however, with his manager Tony Docherty saying the player wanted to take time to consider his options.
The Dee did put a contract offer to the 22-year-old but he has not signed it as he weighs up his next move.
Rangers are believed to be the frontrunners for Cameron’s signature despite the other interest and would have to pay a compensation fee if signing him at the end of his deal, in the same way they did for Connor Barron.
Cameron previously admitted playing for Rangers would be a wish of his as the Scotland under-21s star looks to progress in his career.
And last night he certainly showed something required to cut it at Ibrox.

Cameron hailed for part in Dundee draw vs Celtic
Dundee came so close to beating Celtic last night but still managed to take points off them as £11million man Arne Engels made it 3-3 with a stoppage time penalty.
Cameron only came on for the final ten minutes but he hadn’t started the match because he was ill, putting that behind him and coming on to help his team see it out.
Docherty lauded his team for their ‘heroic’ efforts, and in particular the Rangers target who wasn’t fit to play but did his bit.
He said post-match: “I’m disappointed because I do think that we’d absolutely done enough to win the match.
“The word I would use is heroic.
“When when you see the substitutes that Celtic are bringing on, multi-million-pound players and I’m bringing on Lyall Cameron, who was not fit to play, he’s out of his sick bed.
“He said to me ‘I’ve got 10 minutes gaffer’, I’ve got to put him on because Fin Robertson has run his race. He’s another who hasn’t trained.
“That just typifies the mentality, the spirit of the squad and hugely proud of them.
“When you go behind early on in a match, I’ve seen some teams buckle against Celtic.
“We stood up to it.
“I’m just disappointed we don’t get ourselves the three points the performance merited.”
Cameron shows what Rangers need
At a time when Philippe Clement’s squad is having their mentality questioned because of their inability to go away from home and consistently pick up points, Cameron has showed a quality they need.
It would have been easy for him to call in sick and stay in his bed.
Instead he came along in case his team needed him, and when they did, he went on on helped grind out the win.
It’s an attitude which would go a long way at Ibrox and instantly win the fans over.
