Rangers were never going to solve all their problems in one summer with Philippe Clement having to oversee such a big turnover of players.
The manager is fully accepting of the position as he looks to rebuild the squad and knows that the current player trading strategy is the right one to take for both the short and long-term.
One issue that hasn’t been addressed yet is the lack of homegrown players with Connor Barron and Liam Kelly being signed to replace the outgoing Ryan Jack and Robby McCrorie, the sale of Scott Wright to Birmingham City left Clement one down on where he started.

Lyall Cameron dreams big as he makes Rangers transfer hint
Shopping local has always been a path trodden by Rangers in previously successful teams and the next possible target should be well known to Philippe Clement.
Having just faced Dundee, Lyall Cameron should have caught the Gers boss’ eye if he isn’t already on Nils Koppen’s radar.
With three goals and five assists in 11 appearances this season, the Scotland Under-21 international is one of the SPFL’s hottest prospects.
That he is eligible to discuss a pre-contract agreement in January makes him as much of a no-brainer as the signing of Barron.
Speaking after the 3-0 defeat to Rangers, Cameron hinted that Ibrox could be a place that he could see himself playing more often after seeing teammate Luke McCowan sign for Celtic on deadline day, as reported by The Courier:
“It is hard, to be honest, because I think Luke and I built a really good relationship in the middle of the pitch.
“We knew where each other was and obviously he came up with big moments and so did I.
“So I think we just got on really well and knew what the other person was going to do.
“Obviously losing him at that time of the season was tough, but I think we brought in some good players.
“Hopefully once they find their feet in the team and understand the league they’ll do well.
“We’ve brought in a lot of boys who haven’t really played in this league. You do need the experience of playing in the Premiership. I’ve played here a couple of years now.
“I know I’m only 21 but I’m one of the more experienced guys in the team.
“I think once everyone finds their feet and we start understanding each other I think we’ll be OK.
“I’m really confident in my own abilities and I think I could play in a bigger team.
“Obviously when you come to places like Ibrox, you just wish you could get a move to a team like this.
“Obviously it would be huge for your career. So hopefully one day I can go on to do that.”
Cameron signing should be a January priority
With over 100 appearances in the SPFL and as one of Dundee’s main players, Cameron has shown that he is ready to follow McCowan and make the step up to a bigger club.
The question, when shopping local, has to be if they are better than Rangers own academy players who came through Auchenhowie.
Cameron would be compared to Leon King and Cole McKinnon and it would be the Dundee midfielder who would come out on top every time.
In terms of cutting the wage bill too, would Cameron play more than Kieran Dowell or Jose Cifuentes?
Again, the answer is probably, yes.
He would also be on less money.
Rangers should always be aware of when the best young Scottish players become available and Lyall Cameron is close to the top of that list.
