How much Rangers will receive for Scott Wright as Birmingham City move agreed

Rangers winger Scott Wright has agreed a deal to sign for EFL League One side Birmingham City.

The 27-year-old signed for Rangers back in 2021 from Aberdeen and went on to make 120 appearances for the Ibrox giants, scoring 20 goals on the way.

But Wright was never able to make himself a regular for the club and now his exit from Govan has been agreed, according to Sky Sports.

Wright will link up with a familiar face at St Andrew’s after Ben Davies sealed his loan move to Birmingham City earlier this week.

Wright’s move will be a permanent one with Sky Sports reporting how much Rangers have accepted to receive for the former Scotland U21 internationalist.

Rangers to sell Scott Wright

Rangers will bank £300k for Scott Wright after personal terms were agreed on Thursday. The winger will then complete his move after a medical and the completion of relevant paperwork.

It means Rangers’ policy of one out, one in can be kickstarted with Philippe Clement declaring previously that he can’t sign anyone else this summer until players have been moved on.

Wright will join Sam Lammers, Robby McCrorie and Connor Goldson as players who have been sold permanently by Rangers this summer.

But the likes of Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi are yet to be shifted out of Ibrox with just a day of the transfer window remaining.

Sale opens door for Josip Brekalo

Rangers are crying out for a proper left-winger so now that Wright’s exit has been agreed, Clement and Nils Koppen can push hard to secure a recruit for the position.

That could be Fiorentina winger Josip Brekalo, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Serie A side for the season ahead.

Rangers are reportedly leading the race to sign Brekalo but do face competition from Venezia and apparently Celtic, although that one could be a mix-up.
