Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spent the afternoon fawning over Glen Kamara [Rangers], reiterating just how much of an asset Rangers have in the Finnish international.

A former Arsenal youth, Kamara has been reared with an education amongst the best in the footballing world.

He has also grown dramatically as a footballer over the last eleven months, becoming a reliable, intelligent option for Rangers and a midfield behemoth for Finland.

For Rangers, Kamara is regularly trusted in the Ibrox club’s biggest games.

So much so he is largely keeping summer signing Joe Aribo from holding down a starting berth in Glasgow.

For Finland, Kamara was a central figure in the country’s march to their first-ever international tournament and will be one of the players to watch at next year’s tournament.

When you can boss a midfield boasting the likes of Jorginho, the case is already being made for your ability as a player.

At times, the former Dundee midfielder’s close control and midfield awareness is at an elite level and at only 24 there is still plenty of room for the midfielder to develop.

Signed for only £50k, suggestions Kamara might move for £8m [Herald] mean he is potentially worth 160 times the amount Rangers pay for his services.

But going by Steven Gerrard’s comments, Rangers might well value Kamara at considerably more than that.
