Rangers fans have lauded Glen Kamara after the midfielder helped Finland secure qualification for Euro 2020.
The Finns defeated Liechtenstein 3-0 in Helsinki on Friday evening, courtesy of a strike from Jasse Tuominen and a brace from Teemu Pukki.
The three points took them to an unassailable seven-point lead over third-placed side Greece with just one round of games remaining, meaning they will compete in their first-ever major championships come the summer.
Kamara, who starred for Rangers in last weekend’s win over Livingston, has become a linchpin for his national team across this qualification campaign.
As usual, he played the full 90 minutes, as they swept aside their opposition with ease.
Reports over the last week have suggested that the club may be able to command £8 million for Kamara if they elect to sell him in January, with multiple Premier League clubs said to be interested [Scottish Herald].
Yet, given this development, it makes even more sense to be stubborn and to hold onto him until at least the summer.
If the 24-year-old goes and tears it up in the Euros, his value will doubtless increase even further.
Some fans have already been thinking along those lines, while others just looked to praise him for his contribution to a piece of history for his nation.
Here’s a selection of reactions to the news:
