Rangers now have a four-man shortlist ready to replace Danny Rohl, and it includes a former Premier League manager.
Rohl is liked by RB Salzburg, and the Austrian club have been locked in conversations with the Ibrox outfit.
Rangers may demand up to £6m in compensation if they are to part ways with the German over the coming days.
How long will Danny Rohl be at Rangers?
Andrew Cavenagh has confirmed he will not be sacked ahead of the new season…
Rangers inundated with calls as former Premier League boss on shortlist
The Light Blues have been fielding several calls as word is now out that they are looking for a new manager, Chris Jack claims.
The German appears to be edging closer to leaving Ibrox, with the club having four managers they will consider.
The Rangers Review journalist has stated that there is an unnamed Premier League boss who has also made the club’s shortlist.
Which of these three managers would you prefer at Rangers?
We believe Derek McInnes is the right man for the job…
Derek McInnes is said to be one of the names being considered by Rangers, following his impressive stint at Hearts.
He also managed to get the best out of Lawrence Shankland at Tynecastle and could reunite with him in Glasgow ahead of the new season.
Steven Gerrard continues to be linked with Rangers, and was also in Scotland earlier this week, which may or may not be related to Rohl’s future.

Who could the former Premier League manager be?
While Gerrard has also managed in the Premier League, he is unlikely to be categorised as a former Premier League manager in the context of Rangers.
Rob Edwards was recently sacked by Wolves following their relegation to the Championship, and he does check that box.
Back when the Gers were looking to replace Russell Martin, the Scottish Daily Express had reported that Edwards was someone under consideration.
Will Steven Gerrard become the next Rangers manager?
Tam McManus believes Danny Rohl will be sacked…
Now that he is out of work, it could be possible that the American owners are willing to bring the 43-year-old to Ibrox.
Sean Dyche has also previously been linked to Rangers, and he’s someone who’s got years of Premier League experience under his belt.
It will be interesting to see who the Ibrox outfit turn to, but there is a likelihood that their go-to options will be either Gerrard or McInnes.
