Philippe Clement has rarely been able to choose his best XI for Rangers having to cope with a variety of issues throughout the season.
The manager seems to have settled on a shape and system that works at Ibrox and another for Europe, however, there still needs to be more evidence in fixtures away from home before he will fully be trusted.
With the age of the squad lowered, it is becoming more apparent who Clement can trust and who Rangers can build their team around for the future.

Jack Butland
Maybe not a wholly popular choice, but with 10 clean sheets in 19 league games, his overall play this season has been more than acceptable.
What affects the judgement of Butland, is that he is compared to a Hall of Fame legend on a weekly basis.
Is it fair to compare Mohamed Diomande to Paul Gascoigne, Nicolas Raskin to Barry Ferguson, or Hamza Igamane to Ally McCoist?
Goalkeeper is a very high risk position and Butland is still operating at a level where he saves more points than he costs.
Clinton Nsiala
Jumping the gun? Maybe. But there has been nothing from his first six games as a senior footballer that suggest the 21-year old centre-half is going to be anything other than a first-team regular.
There are rough edges that will be ironed out, however, he has improved in nearly every fixture and his passing, from day one, has looked better than all of his more experienced teammates in the same position.
Comparisons to Calvin Bassey are valid in terms of experience, if not in terms of playing style, because Nsiala is miles ahead of Rangers’ record transfer sale at the same stage.

Nicolas Raskin
An obvious one. Still only 23, the Belgian has grown into a leader this season and is the clear choice to replace James Tavernier as captain.
A position that looked like it needed attention is now in good hands with Nils Koppen justified in not signing a No.6 in the summer.
The real heartbeat of the team. The only problem will be keeping a hold of him after his displays against Man Utd and Spurs.
Ianis Hagi
Like Raskin, Ianis Hagi is thriving on the extra responsibility this season without a Ryan Kent or Alfredo Morelos in the team.
He looks like a player who wants to be the main man, is taking set-pieces with his left and right foot and push Tavernier out of the way to take free-kicks.
Give him the contract that one of the first names on the team sheet should be on.

Hamza Igamane
How long he will be at Rangers remains to be seen with interest in Hamza Igamane now coming from Newcastle United.
Capable of playing out wide or as a 10, the Moroccan is more at home as the central striker and is the perfect example of what a modern forward should look like.
His Europa League exploits are making other teams sit up and take notice, but the attack should be built around him.
There are notable mentions for players like Jefte and Mohamed Diomande, with Danilo and Oscar Cortes also capable of becoming pivotal figures for Clement – if they can stay fit.
