Champions League outfit Club Brugge are reportedly targeting Rangers winger Ryan Kent and a legendary link up with one-time Ibrox target Andreas Skov Olsen.

According to Voetbal Nieuws in Belgium, the country’s former Pro League champions are eyeing a cut-price deal for the out-of-contract 26-year-old who fans are all but resigned to losing in the summer.

The report also makes mention of historic Club Brugge interest in Ryan Kent, who almost moved to Belgium before Rangers splashed out a reported £7m to bring the winger from Liverpool in 2019.

Four years on from that deal, and with no news on a new contract forthcoming, Rangers fans are resigned to losing a player whose inconsistency has been as much a feature of his Ibrox career as have moments of genuine quality.

It’s a big loss on someone with such substantial talent and, behind the scenes, Rangers fans continue to question the squad management that sees the playing group in disarray and the club surrendering another treble to Celtic.

Ryan Kent linked with Club Brugge Rangers escape

Heads have begun to roll at the top of the club and, as fans get frustrated with the performances of Kent, perhaps a switch to the likes of Club Brugge represents a strong option.

They are not the only club reportedly interested in the winger – who has only found the back of the net three times in a woeful season – with the likes of Premier League-bound Burnley and Turkish giants Fenerbahce strongly mentioned.

But those links to Club Brugge are certainly interesting, even if the former Belgian champions will not be in the Champions League next season after surrendering the league title to Royal Antwerp.

The Belgians put in a noble showing in this season’s competition, eventually going out in the first knockout round to Benfica, but they also face a rebuild this summer.

One player within their ranks is Andres Skov Olsen, who Rangers were extensively linked with prior to a reported £5m move to Belgium from Italian side Bologna in January 2022.

Kent off the left and Andreas Skov Olsen off the right was the attacking double-act Rangers fans once dreamed of seeing at Ibrox. Now it could potentially be the one on show at Club Brugge from next season.
