Rangers fans could do with a hero right now, a player who can lift the dark clouds above the club and the support.
Philippe Clement still clings to his job as manager, but his decision to drop Cyriel Dessers for Hamza Igamane paid off handsomely.
With two goals and an assist for a 9/10 player rating, the young Moroccan led the line in a way that Rangers haven’t seen all season, impressing Jack Butland along the way.

Jack Butland impressed as Hamza Igamane stars for Rangers
Taking to Instagram after the game, the current Gers skipper with James Tavernier on the bench, was clearly delighted with his teammate’s contribution.
“Buzzing for the lad, outstanding from everyone,” posted the Rangers No.1.
Not only did Igamane show a level of composure that has been missing recently, but he also showed the work rate and desire needed to become a fans’ favourite.
Leading the line for Rangers isn’t just about posting decent numbers, as Dessers will testify.
Clement takes aim at those who questioned Igamane signing
Clement has shown in the past that he can build a young team into a successful one and he has taken a not-so-subtle dig at those who questioned the signing of Igamane:
“You have a lot of new players, nobody knows their value. They say, ‘why do we buy a young boy out of Morocco who doesn’t have any experience’, for example?
“So, today and also in some games before already with other players, people start to see the potential and why these decisions are made with the financial situation of the club in the summer.
“To do that and it’s about hard work with them. We have a lot of players who are high potential, who need to work hard, who need to learn still a lot because they’re young.
“They don’t have the experience at the level of Rangers. But this night can show a lot of people that there is a lot of potential in this squad and that we’re working really hard to gel everything together.”
Doing it when the pressure is off is all well and good, but he now has to do it on a cold Sunday afternoon in Perth too.
