Bobby Madden claims he didn't see Morelos Brown Old Firm clash

The referee from the last Old Firm, Bobby Madden, has admitted he didn’t even see the incident involving Alfredo Morelos and Scott Brown.
The clash between the two resulted in Alfredo Morelos being red carded and had a huge impact on the game. Brown was also guilty of raking Morelos’ Achilles but he received no punishment.
And Madden claims it was assistant Alan Mulvanney who made the controversial call.

“TV footage shows I had absolutely no view of the incident. Alan was in line with the second last defenders, that’s his responsibility,” Bobby Madden told Clyde One’s Superscoreboard.
“So I am following the ball up the field of play and I hear a roar, so, naturally, you look round and you see a player on the ground.

“Immediately the communication from Alan was ‘red card, red card, red card’ and that’s why it was dealt with quite as quickly.
“I think in that environment and under that pressure for Alan to pick up the incident then communicate that so clearly was a real positive.”

Alfredo Morelos still being affected by Bobby Madden decision

The whistler trusted his assistant with the decision and it completely swung the game in Celtic’s favour. That said, Rangers battled back admirably and were very unlucky to eventually lose the game 2-1.
But Alfredo Morelos has suffered a harsh punishment for the entire thing, with a four-game suspension following the red card. He might even struggle to get back into the Rangers team.
Many people remain unconvinced it was a red card in the first place.

The Colombian striker has since apologised and is ready to make it up to Gers supporters. But it could be too little too late with potential buyers swirling around the Colombian.

Scott Brown got the rise he wanted out the 22-year-old striker and he must learn not to react. His discipline could have also affected his chances of making it to a major tournament with Colombia in the summer.
It’s been a steep learning curve for the Rangers talisman.
