Alfredo Morelos has released a statement to Rangers fans apologising for his red card against Celtic.
The striker was sent off in the first half after a clash with Scott Brown. Whilst on second viewing the red card looks harsh, Alfredo raises his arm and gives the referee a decision to make.
He played right into that hammer thrower’s hands and it’s a big part of why we lost yesterday. It’s no good having all the talent in the world if you’re not on the pitch to use it.

The Colombian striker says in the message that he’ll do everything in his power to ensure this doesn’t happen again. No wonder.
Morelos is now going to be banned for four of Rangers seven remaining league games. He only has three games left of his season.
It’s incredibly frustrating and could also mean he’ll miss out when Celtic come to Ibrox. Morelos’ suspension will carry on into the first two games of the split.

Those games have not been defined yet and could well include the Old Firm match.

It was Alfredo Morelos’ fifth red card of the season. More than ever he needs to understand people are trying to rile him up and he’s giving them what they want.
If you want to frustrate the opposition, you do that by scoring goals. Apologising is all well and good, but he must learn from these mistakes. This has to be the final straw for Morelos and it’s good to see him taking responsibility.
