Rangers return to Ibrox for the first competitive match there since the beginning of January and Livingston will be their Scottish Premiership visitors.

Celtic face Aberdeen in the early kick-off on Saturday so Gers may be able to take advantage against David Martindale’s basement boys if the Hoops slip up at Pittodrie.

Rangers fans will be enthused by the prospect of seeing the likes of Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes making their debuts for the club after they joined Fabio Silva as our incomings in January.

Philippe Clement has confirmed the latter two will be available for selection but their minutes will be managed accordingly.

With regards to injuries, the manager had a few updates to get across to the media on Friday. He did not mention the progress of either Ben Davies or Kieran Dowell, but here is what he had to say on Danilo, Kemar Roofe and Zak Lovelace before tomorrow’s Livingston clash.

Danilo

Brazilian striker Danilo is still recovering from a serious knee injury but it does appear from what Clement said at his presser that the 24-year-old is making good progress.

However, the Belgian stressed no silly moves will be taken with him. Clement said: “We will see if he is back at the end of the season or not. We won’t risk anything with Danilo, we won’t risk his return for the sake of a few weeks but he will remain around the squad.”

Zak Lovelace

Clement offered an update on Zak Lovelace who has been recovering from a devastating hamstring injury suffered in the 3-0 Rangers first-team win over St Mirren in October.

The young forward stepped onto the grass at the end of December for the first time since the blow and now, Clement has confirmed what Lovelace’s next steps will be.

He said: “Lovelace has had three months out and needs to make steps with the B-Team first to return after three months out. He will then progress to some training sessions with us.”

Kemar Roofe

Kemar Roofe remains out and while there was a suggestion the striker may not be able to feature again this season, Clement believes the Jamaican will be back at some point before May.

Clement said: “Kemar is also still in the building. He’s not top fit now but I expect him to be fit in time this season.”
