Rangers have been boosted by the return of striker Zak Lovelace to the training pitch following an injury sustained at the start of October.
The young striker took to Instagram to share an update on his rehabilitation, sharing an image of a pair of boots with the caption “happy to be back on (the) pitch”.
The return of Lovelace represents a boost to Rangers with Kemar Roofe not yet ready to play 90 minutes and Brazilian striker Danilo out for several months.
Zak Lovelace returns from injury
Zak Lovelace sustained a devastating hamstring injury on his first start for Rangers, the 17-year-old being called into the team for the eventual 3-0 win away to St Mirren in October.
One of two matches taken charge of by interim manager Steven Davis, Zak Lovelace was one of two youngsters handed a shot by the Rangers legend.
Ross McCausland has since kicked on under manager Philippe Clement – earning a new contract in the process – and Zak Lovelace will hope to get into the Ibrox manager’s thinking.
One of the highest-rated youth prospects in the Rangers B side, the club will be hoping for the England youth international to get back on track in the weeks and months ahead.
Rangers striker options limited
Rangers striker options continue to fluctuate with the emergence of Cyriel Dessers in recent weeks holding Philippe Clement’s frontline together.
The under-fire Belgian-born Nigerian striker has bounced back from his rough start at Ibrox to play a crucial role in the wins over Real Betis and Aberdeen.
Expected to be the club’s main striker heading into the final five games before the winter break, Rangers are expected to be busy in this area in January.

With Brazilian striker Danilo having surgery on a knee issue and Kemar Roofe unreliable as a consistent option for the side, reinforcements are necessary.
But as Rangers’ lack of options in the forward-line continues, the return of Zak Lovelace from injury can boost Philippe Clement’s squad for the remainder of the campaign.
