Barry Robson claims he’s “optimistic” star Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski will be fit for the League Cup Final clash with Rangers.

The Dons hitman missed the club’s stunning midweek 2-0 win over Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa Conference League with a hamstring issue.

But ahead of the Hampden clash in the rebranded ViaPlay Cup Final showpiece, Barry Robson has hinted that Bojan Miovski is set to be available against Rangers.

It comes with the Macedonian striker having netted an impressive 12 goals already this season and the likes of Rangers and Celtic both being linked to the forward.

Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski to make League Cup Final?

Speaking ahead of the League Cup Final clash with Rangers, Barry Robson stopped short of confirming that Bojan Miovski would make the match.

But claiming he was “always optimistic” the player would make the game, it’s being claimed the striker came through training on Friday unscathed.

“He was alright on Friday morning in training,” said Robson. “We still have another training session on Saturday so we will see how he is and go from there.”

Rangers have plenty of their own injury issues heading into the game, with Philippe Clement providing an update on four key players heading into the match.

This is on top of the absences surrounding Nicolas Raskin, Tom Lawrence and Danilo, with Ryan Jack still unavailable after a brief stint with Scotland on international duty.

Rangers must find focus v Dons

Rangers will be fully focused on their own squad heading into the match with Aberdeen with the Gers absolutely having enough about them to dispatch the Dons.

Even with Bojan Miovski, Philippe Clement’s team should have enough to overcome our northeast rivals but as recent fixtures have proven, it’s not always that easy.

Forget the line about Aberdeen raising their game against Rangers, the fact we’re heading into the League Cup Final gives the Pittodrie club extra motivation.

Coming into the tie off the back of a famous night in Seville, the Ibrox side are tasked with keeping the good feeling going in Glasgow and now look likely to come up against Bojan Miovski against Aberdeen.

The Dons striker is also not the only Aberdeen threat heading into the game.
