Vaclav Cerny is Rangers’ man of the moment and now he’s just been named the Czech Republic’s Man of the Match.
Cerny made a splash at Celtic Park before the international break, the Rangers winger under investigation after skooshing Celtic supporters with water at Parkhead.
It’s OK Vaclav, the excitement of Hamza Igamane’s late winner was a lot to take for all of us.
It’s all fun and games for Rangers fans, but Cerny finds the Celtic Park fall-out ‘absurd’.
But it’s not just the off-field antics of Vaclav Cerny that have made him a cult hero amongst Ibrox fans.
The attacker’s impressive returns at home and abroad have caused many in the Gers support to fall into that all too familiar trap of falling in love with a loan player.
Now donning the shirt of his beloved Czechia, Cerny is also showing why he has plenty of admirers outside of Glasgow as well.

Man of the Match Vaclav Cerny nets Czech Republic stunner
Rangers fans know all about the qualities of Vaclav Cerny after an impressive season on loan at Ibrox from Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg.
The winger, 27, has impressed with his ruthless displays from out on the right-wing, the Rangers Robben cutting inside on his deadly left foot to devastating effect this season.
Cerny’s returns of 17 goals and seven assists is immensely impressive, as is the winger’s penchant for a big moment in the Europa League.
It’s not wonder the likes of Simon Donnelly and Marvin Bartley reckon Rangers would be ‘daft’ to miss out on signing Cerny permanently.
As Rangers take a breather, Cerny’s showed his qualities whilst representing the Czech Republic in their latest World Cup Qualifier against Gibraltar.
Having provided an assist in the 2-1 win over the Faroe Islands, Cerny got himself on the scoresheet against the European minnows in a goal that exemplifies everything that’s great about the attacker.
The cut inside, the expert composure and focus, the low, arrowed left-foot drive; krásný.
That goal set the Czechs on their way to a comprehensive 4-0 victory but the plaudits didn’t stop there for Rangers’ mercurial winger.
Come full-time, Cerny was being awarded the game’s Man of the Match in a reminder as to why the winger has been receiving admiring glances from the Premier League.
Rangers to face Premier League Vaclav Cerny transfer battle
Vaclav Cerny is a wanted man after his exploits with Rangers this season and the Ibrox side will struggle to compete for the Wolfsburg winger’s signature.
Whilst it never happened in the Bundesliga for the ex-Ajax and FC Twente forward, Cerny has rejuvenated his career with Rangers.
It’s resulted in several clubs from the Premier League keeping an eye on Cerny’s progress, including Fulham, Brentford and West Ham.
Rangers News also exclusively revealed that the incoming US takeover has boosted Rangers’ hopes of signing Cerny come the end of the season.
The Gers were initially priced out of a deal for the winger, with Wolfsburg’s £8m Cerny transfer demands too rich for the Ibrox club’s blood.
But with the 49ers set to change the financial landscape at Ibrox, a deal is not so unrealistic even if Rangers will face substantial competition. And not just from England.
Cerny impressed with a double against Fenerbahce and Jose Mourinho’s team were urged to sign the Rangers loanee by leading Turkish pundit Sercan Hamzaoglu come full time.
Spanish outfit Villarreal were also linked to Cerny earlier in the season with La Liga believed to be a genuine option for the Rangers forward.
As for staying at Ibrox, Cerny admits he’s open to moving to Rangers permanently but will leave the particulars to his agents come the end of the season.
That’s even if Cerny’s agent has a different view on a move to Rangers.
