SPFL Player of the Month Hamza Igamane left January in a blaze of glory at Rangers.

But the Moroccan has been brought right back down to earth after two less effective performances in a Rangers jersey.

Hamza Igamane is clearly a special talent and such was the north African’s impressive form last months heads have reportedly been turned in the Premier League.

But as the last 180 minutes send Igamane and Rangers fans a reminder of where the hitman is at, there’s a reason why one team of would-be suitors looked elsewhere this winter.

Hamzas Igamane stays at Rangers

Hamza Igamane made headlines back in December when he found the back of the net to fire Rangers in front against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League.

The Moroccan hitman, 22, had begun to find his feet at Ibrox with a string of impressive performances, touches and goals in the blue of Rangers.

Rangers were clear throughout the window that they wanted to keep a hold of Igamane and as the deadline ticked closer it became abundantly clear the Moroccan was going nowhere.

Igamane had been linked to a host of Premier League clubs with one report even claiming Everton were set to launch a move for the Rangers striker.

Spurs were also one of the names most prominently linked with Igamane as the Premier League giants hunted for a new striker.

But as the transfer window rolls to a close, Tottenham appear to be sorted in that position for quite some time.

Well, depending on how the next few months go.

Spurs sign £45m Hamza Igamane alternative

That’s because Spurs have announced the loan-to-buy signing of Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel this January.

The French hitman, 19, has found chances at a premium since moving to Germany from Rennes and performed a dramatic u-turn to sign for Spurs on deadline day.

According to Sky Sports, Tel will move to North London until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent for £45m.

If Spurs manage to climb up the Premier League table and take up the option in the summer then Rangers don’t have anything to worry about.

But if Mathys Tel decides the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium isn’t for him, then perhaps Philippe Clement’s Hamza Igamane premonition might well come true.
