Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been clear that he wants Hamza Igamane to stick around at Ibrox for a little while longer yet.
The Moroccan striker, 22, has burst onto the scene at Ibrox after being picked up by Rangers for what now looks like a bargain £1.7m fee from FAR Rabat in the summer.
Already there are reports of watching glances from the Premier League towards Igamane as the striker impresses in his first few months in British football.
But one of the most high-profile reported suitors appears to have turned their attentions elsewhere for now as Hamza Igamane sends a message to the Rangers support.
Spurs target £50m striker transfer deal
Whilst Hamza Igamane had begun to show flashes of his quality with Rangers it was that goal against Tottenham Hotspur that had those outside Ibrox sitting up and taking notice.
Having already lashed in an impressive double against OGC Nice in the Europa League, the striker met a stunning James Tavernier cross to fire home the opener against Spurs.
Since then, Tottenham Hotspur have been routinely linked to Rangers’ most prized asset with Spurs in the midst of an injury crisis which has Ange Postecoglou begging for reinforcements.
But the latest coming out of White Hart Lane suggests Rangers will soon be able to breathe easy with Tottenham now setting their sights elsewhere.
According to the Athletic, the Premier League side are targeting Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel as they look to reinforce their squad this January.
Spurs have ‘advanced interest’ in a €60million (£50.2m) move for ex-Rennes striker Tel, who has seen his chances limited in Germany this season.

Hamza Igamane ‘happy’ at Rangers
Spurs aren’t the only Premier League side being linked with Rangers striker Hamza Igamane this January either.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Everton are ‘one step away’ from launching a move for Igamane as David Moyes looks to reinforce the Toffees squad.
Despite the links away from Rangers, Hamza Igamane insists he’s ‘happy’ at Ibrox and has his sights set on continuing his development in Glasgow.
That’s even if the striker has ambitions beyond the borders of Scotland and with the Morocco national squad.
“To be honest, I am happy here in Scotland,” Igamane smiles. “Here, I do not need anything. Everything I need is available.
“I would like to thank the Rangers club officials because they put me in ideal conditions so that I can focus only on football and my achievements on the pitch.
“Believe me, I do not feel like a stranger here, despite my distance from Morocco.
“[I want] to maintain the pace of development, [and] to provide evidence that I do not stop working because I have not reached the position I want for myself.
“I [also] hope to quickly reach the den of the Atlas Lions, and have the honour of defending the colours of my country.”
