Hamza Igamane has been one of Rangers’ brightest sparks in recent weeks as the Moroccan striker begins to find his feet in Glasgow.

Having banged in five goals in five matches heading into the weekend’s Old Firm clash with Celtic, it was all eyes on the 22-year-old forward at Hampden.

Whilst it never happened for Hamza Igamane or his Rangers teammates, the striker’s start to life in Scotland hasn’t gone unnoticed south of the border.

And after Igamane lashed in Rangers’ goal in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, the Ibrox striker has seemingly attracted glances from the English Premier League.

Hamza Igamane ’monitored’ in Premier League

Rangers signed Hamza Igamane in a £1.7m deal from Moroccan club FAR Rabat in the summer transfer window.

The Gers have taken a new approach to their transfer dealings, hoping to strike it rich by investing in rough diamonds from emerging markets.

Hamza Igamane is fast becoming the poster boy of this investment and the Rangers hitman is now reportedly capturing the attentions of clubs down south.

According to Moroccan online football site Kota Maroc, ‘several teams’ are now ‘monitoring’ Igamane in the English Premier League.

These include the likes of West Ham United, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham, who are all reportedly keeping an eye on the Rangers striker.

Nils Koppen in Rangers transfer admission

The links between Hamza Igamane and the Premier League come after Rangers technical director Nils Koppen admitted the club could sell players this winter.

The Belgian recruitment guru was speaking earlier in the season and suggested that if the deal was right for Rangers, the club would be open to making it happen.

It comes with Rangers buying young talents with the hope of developing them at Ibrox and banking big player trading returns in the future.

“(In October) we had a meeting with the manager and the football board, the board members, to determine the strategy about (the January window),” Koppen said two months ago.

“I think we’ve identified the positions at the moment we’re a little bit weak in, understaffed, maybe we need a bit more quality so we know that, we identified that.

“Now it’s about talking about budgets we can spend on that, going on the market and preparing ourselves for that window.

“On the other side there’s also the possibility that players will leave the club so we have to be ready to replace them where necessary. Again we’re working on that.

“The first step has been made and now the recruitment team is active to identify these positions.”
