The situation with Todd Cantwell at Ibrox is a source of immense frustration for Rangers fans.
The ex-Norwich City playmaker is currently propping up the club’s reserves, training away from the first-team having exiled himself from the Rangers squad.
Philippe Clement revealed earlier in the summer that Todd Cantwell had come to his office to demand a move away from Ibrox.
The thing is, Todd hasn’t had quite the number of suitors his throbbing ego believed he would have.
But as the transfer window bottlenecks and moves slowly start edging closer, there’s some positive news on the Rangers front as the sounds around Trabzonspor get louder.

Trabzonspor hint at Cantwell swoop
Trabzonspor have already been hard at work in the transfer market this summer.
Having already signed two of Todd Cantwell’s former teammates, the Turkish Super Lig are well aware of the Rangers squad.
Croatian left-back Borna Barisic and Scouse midfielder John Lundstram both joined Trabzonspor at the end of their contracts.
The Turks also had a bid thrown out for Rangers captain James Tavernier earlier in the summer.
Trabzonspor representatives allegedly jetted out to meet Todd Cantwell and his team last week, sparking much chatter around an impending Rangers exit.
Now, the Turkish side’s manager has been talking about their transfer plans and is clear that a midfielder is one of two additional signings they’re targeting before the window slams shut.
“We have a transfer plan for two more players,” said Abdullah Avci, as quoted by the Daily Record. “The chairman is very busy.
“So far, we have gone with good, balanced, and correct players. My excitement is very high, as in the championship year, and so is the team’s.
“We hope that we will get better results as the transfers are made. Our priority is the forward, then maybe the midfielder. We will evaluate the process after that.”
With regards the striker it’s worth noting that Trabzonspor have been heavily linked with Wout Weghorst, who was the subject of swirling Rangers rumours earlier in the window.
Rangers target Cantwell profit
With Todd Cantwell considered an important player at Rangers, Gers manager Philippe Clement probably didn’t envisage this level of upheaval.
The Gers have already lost a number of previously key players, with Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe and Jon McLaughlin joining the aforementioned Lundstram and Barisic in leaving Rangers at the end of their contracts.
Connor Goldson has also moved to Cypriot side Aris whilst Robby McCrorie has moved to Kilmarnock in the hunt for first-team football.
Sam Lammers has started brightly after moving to FC Twente whilst Jose Cifuentes is Greece bound and Ianis Hagi continues to be linked to the exit door.
The question then becomes just how much are Rangers demanding for Todd Cantwell this summer and who might the club target to replace him?
Whilst there’s been scant suggestion of who Rangers could move for to replace Cantwell, the Daily Record reckon the Gers will demand between £3m and £4m for the midfielder.
That would mark a profit of up to £2.5m on the ex-Norwich City star.
Perhaps that level of investment could go towards securing the services of ‘fantastic’ Plymouth Argyle attacker Morgan Whittaker.
